Report emanating from Bomi County says Zoes in that part of Liberia have chased into forest two Men of God of the Jesus Joy Global Impact Ministries (Joy Land Chapel).
The founder and General overseer of the church, Pastor Melvin S. P. Parwon, who is also a survivor explained that on February 10, 2016, he and his Co. Pastor Abraham Cooper, were attacked by Zoes and Boodios in a town called (Gbaama).
According to him, they were attacked for allegedly preaching against the “bad practices” exhibited by Poro and Sande societies in that part of the Country.
Pastor Parwon said some of the issues spoke against were the forceful initiation of children as young as 2-16 years old.
He also disclosed the issue of female genital mutilation was high on the increase while the denial of children’s right to education was a major problem.
“We were chased out of the town and hunted in the bushes forfour days,” said Pastor Parwon.
“Due to the pressure in the forest it was unfortunate for Pastor Cooper who was captured and initiated into the Poro Society.
Report from the County suggests that due to the pain experiencedin the Poro SocietyPst. Cooper died through the process,” he explained.
The Jesus Joy Global Impact Ministries (Joy Land Chapel) according to him was established in Bomi County in 2014 in Garu and Gbaama towns.
He divulged that the Zoes and Boodios have since been in search of him everywhere but unable to officially report the situation to the government.
He then accused the government of being in the favor of the Zoe.
