In Montserrado 3rd Division Championship -Muscat, Paynesville FC Reached Final

Muscat FC is one of the clubs that will represent Montserrado County in the Liberia Football Association 3rd Division National Play-Off.

The Du Port road-based side fate was decided Thursday afternoon following an overwhelming victory against Down Town FC at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia.

The “Resilience” came from a goal down to serve Down Town FC a 5-1 humiliating defeat after regular full 90 minutes of beautiful football played.

Thanks to Mark Yellah brace plus one goal each from Lassana Sonii and Isaac Dayweah.

The win sees Coach Mouctarr Fofana’s men secured a spot in the final of the Montserrado 3rd Division Championship title chase.

Muscat will meet Paynesville FC in the final of the competition on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the ATS.

Muscat FC loses the summit of Group “C” table to Stages FC based on a goal difference having been tied on 17 points.

Emmanuel Kehkeh’s men walked away with a 5-4 penalty win over Stages FC at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium on Thursday after regular time ended one at piece.

A 9th minute net getter was good to give Paynesville FC the lead following Denial Tuazama marvelous football work against the defense of Stages FC.

Stages maintained their form with better ball coordination and possession before Sam George converted a team mate’s connection into goal to level the score line 1-1 in the 17th minute.

Paynesville went into the match after topping Group A with 18 points.

The result means, Paynesville FC has joined Muscat FC in the final of the completion and will both represent Montserrado County in the National Play-off.

The Third Division National Play-Off kicks-off November 10, and it will bring together 12 3rd division championship teams from six Counties.

Two clubs each are expected to represent Nimba, Grand Bassa, Sinoe, Margibi, Bong and Montserrado counties.

The play-off will be played on a home and away knock-out basis where six teams will qualify to the next round.

Round two will see three clubs automatically qualified to the second division, but they will have to play a best out of three clubs final. The club with the highest points will be crowned champions for the year, 2018.

The fixture will see teams from Grand Bassa travel to Sinoe for leg one while the second leg will reciprocal the fixture.
