LISCR Draws USM Del Abbes in Caf Confederation Cup Preliminary Round

Liberia’s FA Cup Runner-Up, LISCR FC has beendrawn with an Algerian outfit,USM Bel Abbès(USMBA) in the 2018/2019 CAF Confederation Cuppreliminary round.

The “Shipping Boys” will begin their fourth African Confederation Cup campaign away at the Stade 24 Fevrier 1956, Sidi Bel Abbès, Algeria, following the draw of the tournament’s 16th edition that took place in Cairo.

The Gardnersville-based side will play its first leg at the weekend of 27–28 November 2018 and the return clash is slated for 4–5 December 2018.

If, LISCR FC advances, Coach Tapha Manneh’s men will play the either of the Enugu Rangers of Nigeria or Ethiopia Defense Force of Ethiopia on 14–16 December 2018 and return leg on 21–23 December 2018.

LISCR FC reached the Caf Confederation Cup at the expensed of Barrack Young Controller (BYC), who captured a “Double Championship” in the 2018 Liberia Football Association (LFA) national league.

The senior “Go Blue Boys” convincingly whipped the “Shipping Boys” 4-0 to clinch the 2018 edition of Liberia Football Association Knock-Out competition (FA Cup) two days after being crowned as Champions of the Local FA First Division domestic league.

Union Sportive Medinat Bel Abbès, known as USM Bel Abbès or simply USMBA for short, is an Algerian football club located in Sidi Bel Abbès, Algeria, that was founded in 1933.

The team’s colors are green and red. Their home stadium, Stade 24 Fevrier 1956, has a capacity of 45,000 spectators. The club is currently playing in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1.

Union Sportive Medinat Bel Abbès has ended third on the Algerian Professionnelle Ligue 1 table two times (1969, 1983) and became winner five times in Algerian Ligue 2 (1966, 1980, 1988, 1993 and 2014).

The club has also won two Algerian Cup titles (1991, 2018), one Algerian Super Cup trophy (2018).

On the International scene, USM Bel Abbès will have their first appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup this year, after they ended in the second round of African Cup Winners’ Cup.
