Liberian-born Mark Pabai signs first professional contract with Dutch side Utrecht

Liberian-born Mark Pabai has signed his first professional contract with a Dutch side, Utrecht.

The defender, who has revealed signs of developing into a monstrous footballer, penned a two-season deal after being with Utrecht’s Youth Team for some time.

The contract will see the 18-year-old at Domstedelingen’s feeder side until mid- June 1, 2021.

Born to a Liberian parent, Pabai has been in the Netherland since the start of his career and has represented the European side at the youth level.

The right-back defender who comes from FC Utrecht’s Under 19 was handed the contract after topping the youthful set-up of the Dutch giants.

The lad has shown not only defensive qualities, but also offensive perfect ball distribution and coordination amongst team mates.

The youngster has punched in one goal and an assist so far this season.

From his Facebook page, Pabai expressed delights and gratefulness on his first professional Contract.

“I stand here with a good feeling and I am very pleased that my contract with Utrecht is until 2021” he said.

 “I have gained more confidence than before, and I will continue to show how good I can play, and I hope I can quickly make the step to the Utrecht A.”

The Football Business Manager Jordy Zuidam praised the Liberian youngster for joining Utrecht’s junior side and hailed his qualities.

“We are proud that we were able to bind Mark to FC Utrecht and believe that he can develop further here. Mark will join Jong FC Utrecht from next season. “

“Pabai is a defender who is physically very strong, he is hard to beat and meets the requirements and standards that requires the top football it is a great guy to work with, I am extremely pleased that he has enforced a contract,” Jordy Zuidam said.

Mark is an upcoming right back that is strong in the one-on-one duels, both defensive and offensive”, he concluded.

Despite, playing for Netherland at youth levels Mark Pabai is eligible to play for Liberia.
